Communication in Crisis—Emergency Responder Communications
Enhancement Systems (ERCES) for Multi-tenant Buildings
Sponsored by: Industrial Communications & Electronics
When firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders enter a condominium or commercial building, the radios, smartphones, and other wireless devices they use to communicate rely on radio frequency signals. Those signals can lose strength as they pass through walls, floors, and other building infrastructure—with potentially tragic results. Having an effective Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) helps ensure that the devices first responders need to do their jobs can function properly. This seminar will explain the basics of ERCES, discuss state and local requirements (and the risks of non-compliance), and show how an ERCES keeps buildings and properties safer and more secure.
